Thai Food

Thai food is a unique blend of Chinese stir fries and Indian curries while preserving a unique taste of its own. Thai food is known for its use of fresh (rather than dried) herbs, lots of garlic, and spices as well as fish sauce. Thai food is popular in many Western countries especially in Australia, New Zealand, some countries in Europe such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.

If you never tried Thai foods you may want to start with relatively tame dishes as suggested below.

  • Pad Thai - rice noodles pan fried with fish sauce, sugar, lime juice or tamarind pulp, chopped peanuts, and egg combined with chicken, seafood and tofu.
  • Rad na - wide rice noodles in gravy, with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp or seafood. (Originally from China).

  • Satay - Grilled meat, usually pork or chicken, served with peanut sauce (originally from Indonesia).
